In mining, downtime costs thousands per hour. A proactive maintenance program for your Warman AH slurry pump can double or triple its service life. Here is the essential checklist used by top maintenance teams.

1. Daily: Monitor Vibration & Temperature

  • Bearings should not exceed 70°C (160°F).

  • Sudden vibration spikes indicate cavitation or bearing failure.

2. Weekly: Check Gland Water & Packing

  • Packing Glands: Should leak slightly (approx. 1 drop/sec) for cooling. Zero leak means burning packing; flooding means excessive wear.

  • Gland Water Pressure: Must be higher than pump discharge pressure to prevent slurry ingress.

3. Monthly: Lubrication Analysis

  • Check oil levels and color. Milky oil indicates water ingress.

  • Grease-lubricated bearings: Follow strict re-greasing intervals (do not over-grease!).

4. Quarterly: Inspect Wear Parts

  • Measure impeller and liner clearance.

  • Rule of Thumb: Replace when efficiency drops by 10% or clearance doubles. Don’t wait for breakthrough!
